Departed Friends

A chapter closes for the Irish comunity in Puerto.

More sad news. Sean Carney passed away on October 17th in Dublin after a long battle with cancer. For those who knew him, Sean was the owner of the first Irish Bar in Puerto de la Cruz,"The Harp Bar", Avenida Venezuela. Sean and Margaret ran the Harp for many years. This is the place where Des started out, singing those lovely Irish melodies. If it wasn´t for Sean and Margaret, Des would not have come here and there probably would not have been the Molly Malone Bar. After many successful years, Sean and his family moved back to Dublin. Our condolences and best wishes go to Margaret, Eoin (eldest son) and his wife Francia and new baby Sean, María his daughter and Ronan, the youngest son.
